Job summary

Hedley Scott Recruitment seeks an experienced Senior Auditor for a 2–3 month fixed-term contract in Sydney. You will join 2–3 auditors, performing external audit work for two large proprietary companies in civil contracting and home building.

Requirements include 4–6 years of external audit, knowledge of Australian Auditing Standards, and the ability to work independently. Working Holiday Visa holders are welcome; CA/CPA is advantageous but not essential.

Qualifications

• 4–6 years of external audit experience
• Experience auditing private companies and preparing audit workpapers
• Strong understanding of Australian Auditing Standards
• Ability to manage assigned audit work independently
• Strong attention to detail and communication skills

Responsibilities

• Performing external audit fieldwork for large proprietary companies
• Testing financial statement balances and key transactions
• Reviewing supporting documentation and audit evidence
• Preparing audit workpapers and documenting findings
• Identifying and communicating audit issues to senior team members
• Working collaboratively with existing auditors to meet engagement deadlines
• Completing assigned audit work with minimal supervision
