Job summary

Ashurst Perkins Coie in Melbourne seeks a Senior Expertise Counsel to join its Corporate Transactions team. The role focuses on knowledge management, high‑level drafting, and mentoring colleagues while supporting partners to deliver client solutions.

You will monitor regulatory updates, drive business development initiatives, and contribute to a culture of innovation and client service excellence within a global law firm.

Qualifications

• 7-8 years experience in a knowledge function or transitioning from fee earning, in-house or academic roles into an Expertise Counsel position.
• Experience across corporate law including public and private M&A, capital raisings, the Corporations Act and ASX listing rules.
• Genuinely interested in corporate law with a commercial mindset and ability to monitor regulatory and market updates while coordinating BD initiatives.
• Strong drafting skills and interest in developing and maintaining standard documents, guidance and know-how.

• Support partners and lawyers to achieve exceptional levels of productivity, quality and client satisfaction.
