$121,018 - $134,714 (including salary $102,505 - $114,282)
Office of the CEO
Darwin, Northern Territory
One ongoing full time vacancy is available
Support the CEO in a senior role combining executive coordination, projects, stakeholder engagement and sound judgement.
Based in the Office of the CEO, this role sits at the centre of executive coordination for the Department of Trade, Business and Asian Relations. You will help keep priorities, information and decisions moving, ensuring senior leaders and key stakeholders receive accurate information at the right time.
It is a varied role with scope beyond traditional executive administration. Alongside core executive support, you will coordinate projects, undertake research and analysis, prepare executive correspondence, support policy and administrative processes and help improve the systems that underpin correspondence and information flows across the office.
You will have broad exposure across the department and regular contact with senior staff and external stakeholders. Success will depend on being able to anticipate what is needed, manage competing demands and handle sensitive matters with discretion, accuracy and sound judgement.
You will have a demonstrated record of success operating at senior executive level, with strong organisation and coordination skills, close attention to detail and the ability to produce clear and accurate written work. You will be comfortable balancing competing priorities, delivering projects and maintaining quality when the pace is high or circumstances change.
Strong interpersonal, oral communication and networking skills are important. You will be able to build trust, work collaboratively, solve problems and influence outcomes while bringing the resilience, reliability, integrity and accountability expected in a senior executive environment.
Previous government employment is not essential. Experience gained in government or another complex executive environment will be well regarded, particularly where you have worked with senior stakeholders, confidential information or formal decision-making processes. You will need a sound knowledge and understanding of government and ministerial protocols and procedures and the judgement to apply them appropriately, including in politically sensitive matters.
This ongoing AO6 position offers a broader mix of work than a conventional executive support role. It will suit an experienced professional who enjoys bringing structure to competing priorities and wants to use their executive support capability across projects, problem solving, correspondence and stakeholder engagement in a role with significant trust and visibility across the department.
In addition to the salary, NT Government employment includes 12% employer superannuation, 6 weeks recreation leave, 3 weeks paid personal leave, 17.5% recreation leave loading and 3 days paid Christmas closedown leave. Flexible working arrangements may also be available, subject to the requirements of the role.
