Job summary

SGQ Pty Ltd is seeking an experienced Excavator Operator to join our Fraser Coast team. You will operate excavators and civil plant on local projects, while supporting day-to-day site activities and maintaining safety and quality standards.

The role requires a minimum 5+ years of final trim excavator experience, trenching exposure, a QLD White Card, a valid excavator competency ticket, strong communication, and a Certificate III in Civil Construction.

Qualifications

• 5+ years Final Trim Excavator Operator experience.
• Experience in trenching operations (sewer, stormwater).
• QLD White Card – Work Safely in the Construction Industry (or equivalent).
• VOC/competency ticket for Excavator Operations.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Certificate III in Civil Construction.
• Broader civil construction experience (roads, bridges, earthworks) and plant operation.

Responsibilities

• Operate excavator and civil plant following manufacturer guidelines and site rules.
• Perform general labouring/construction duties when not operating the plant.
• Maintain plant to a high standard for reliability and safety.
• Communicate effectively with supervisors and crew members.
• Report incidents, near misses or hazards promptly to the Supervisor.
• Adhere to fatigue management obligations and relevant legislation.
