Job summary

HEH Civil Pty Ltd is seeking an Excavator Operator for our FNQ operations. You will operate excavators on civil infrastructure projects and may work with other plant. A safety-first approach and professional conduct are essential.

Projects may be based in Cairns or up to four hours from Cairns. Hours are generally Monday to Friday, with some longer days and occasional weekend work on away projects when needed. Team-focused and gaba-positive culture is valued.

Qualifications

• Construction White Card is required.
• GPS/laser system experience is essential.
• Experience operating other plant is desirable.
• HR licence is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Operate excavators for trenching, bulk earthworks, detailed excavation and final trim works.
• Work around services, levels and site constraints with care.
• Operate other plant where experienced and ticketed (e.g., compactors, loaders, trucks).
• Support pipe crews and general civil construction works as required.
• Complete daily pre-start checks and routine maintenance; report faults or hazards.
• Follow site plans, levels and supervisor instructions.
• Work collaboratively to meet project targets and deadlines.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate excavators for trenching, bulk earthworks, detailed excavation and final trim works

• Operate other plant where experienced and ticketed, including compactors, loaders, trucks and other civil plant
