Job summary

Downer is seeking an experienced Senior Estimator Power Projects to lead the development of accurate competitive tenders for substations and high voltage infrastructure in NSW. You will work within the Growth team, collaborating with Project Delivery and key stakeholders to ensure tenders align with the Downer Standard and safeguard profitability while setting projects up for successful delivery.

Qualifications

• Experience in the construction industry with exposure to power transmission substations or high voltage infrastructure.
• Experience tendering across Design and Construct, Construct Only and Fixed Lump Sum delivery models.
• Experience estimating civil, structural, electrical, and instrumentation.
• Strong take-offs, pricing, RFIs, and post-submission clarifications.
• Mentoring Estimators and Junior Estimators.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management.

Responsibilities

• Develop accurate competitive and compliant tenders for substations and HV projects.
• Collaborate with Project Delivery and stakeholders to set up for delivery.
• Mentor and support Estimators and Junior Estimators.
• Manage take-offs, pricing, RFIs, and post-submission clarifications.
• Use estimating databases and MS Office.
