Job summary

Downers Energy and Utilities is seeking an experienced Senior Estimator Power Projects to develop competitive, compliant tenders for substations and high voltage infrastructure. You will work within the Growth team, collaborating with Project Delivery and stakeholders to safeguard profitability and set projects up for successful delivery.

You will bring proven tendering experience across D&C, Construct Only and Lump Sum, with strengths in take-offs, RFIs, and pricing, while mentoring junior

Qualifications

• Experience in the construction industry with exposure to power transmission substations or high voltage infrastructure.
• Proven experience preparing tenders across Design and Construct Construct Only and Fixed Lump Sum delivery models.
• Experience across civil structural electrical and instrumentation estimating.
• Strong capability in take offs, subcontractor and vendor pricing, RFIs and post submission clarifications.
• Working knowledge of estimating databases and Microsoft Office tools.
• Ability to mentor and support Estimators and Junior Estimators.
• Proactive, self-driven approach with strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Trade qualifications and/or an undergraduate engineering degree desirable.
• Alignment to Downers values and commitment to Zero Harm, quality, compliance and client outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Develop accurate, competitive and compliant tenders for power projects across substations and HV infrastructure.
• Collaborate with Project Delivery and stakeholders to safeguard profitability and set up projects for successful delivery.
• Mentor and support Estimators and Junior Estimators to build capability.
• Lead take-offs, subcontractor and vendor pricing, RFIs, and post-submission clarifications.
