Job summary

MI Plumbers, a Perth-based commercial plumbing group, is seeking an experienced Estimator to own the estimating and tendering process for projects across commercial plumbing, defence, and civil works.

You will review plans, prepare detailed tenders, manage deadlines, analyze supplier pricing, and collaborate with construction teams, suppliers and clients to deliver competitive pricing.

Qualifications

The role

Reporting to the Construction Manager, you’ll take ownership of the estimating and tendering process from reviewing plans, specifications and scopes through to preparing accurate, competitive tenders and following up opportunities. You’ll work closely with our construction team, builders, subcontractors and suppliers to understand project requirements, identify risks and develop commercially sound pricing.

Your strong understanding of commercial plumbing construction methodologies will be key to the role, with the ability to accurately assess and complete material, equipment and labour take-offs across plumbing projects. This includes experience with multi-level stacks, commercial hot water plants, trade waste treatment systems and civil site utilities, ensuring estimates are practical, detailed and reflective of the work required to deliver each project successfully.

Key attributes and experience

Previous trade experience, specifically within a commercial plumbing environment will be highly regarded

Advanced Microsoft Office skills

Proven ability to interpret drawings, specifications and scopes of work

Comprehensive expertise in commercial plumbing installations

Strong commercial acumen with an eye for detail

Highly developed analytical and numeracy skills

Strong communicator with a proven ability to form strong working relationships

Foster positive relationships with clients and contractors
