Job summary

McMahon Services in Adelaide is seeking an experienced Senior Estimator to join the Engineering & Projects team. You will lead the preparation of detailed cost estimates, develop robust submissions and construction methodologies across multi-discipline tenders.

You will collaborate with internal teams, engage subcontractors and manage tender processes while applying first principles and risk-aware cost strategies to deliver competitive bids.

Qualifications

• 7–10+ years’ experience in construction estimating.
• Experience delivering medium to large, multi-discipline tenders.
• Strong commercial acumen and understanding of cost structures.
• Proven ability to manage stakeholders and contribute to team outcomes.
• Strong communication, negotiation and problem-solving skills.
• Tertiary qualification in Engineering, Construction, Quantity Surveying or similar (desirable).

Responsibilities

• Lead the preparation and delivery of detailed cost estimates
• Review and develop estimates using first principles and subcontractor inputs
• Manage tender submissions including EOIs and post tender activities
• Coordinate estimators, engineers and submissions teams
• Develop construction methodologies, programs and cost strategies
• Identify and manage commercial and technical risks and opportunities
• Engage with subcontractors and suppliers to obtain competitive pricing
• Support negotiations and project handover activities
