Job summary

APA Group is seeking a Senior Estimator to join its Infrastructure Development team in Brisbane on a full-time permanent basis. You will develop and deliver capital estimates for major power, renewable or gas projects, collaborating with the Project Development Manager and Engineering groups.

Reporting to the Head of Estimating, you will maintain cost databases, lead risk reviews and provide guidance on staffing and project requirements across development, business case and tender stages.

Qualifications

• Significant experience as a Senior Estimator delivering capital estimates for large-scale infrastructure, energy, utilities, construction or related projects.
• Strong first-principles estimating capability to develop cost estimates from drawings, specs and scope.
• Experience preparing and reviewing estimates across development, business case and tendering stages.
• Sound commercial and financial acumen, including risk assessment and cost drivers.
• Familiarity with estimating methodologies, benchmarking practices and industry standards (AACE or equivalents).

Responsibilities

• Provide detailed capital estimates based on scopes, programs and delivery methods to deliver financially responsible estimates.
• Offer timely expert advice to project managers on staffing and project requirements for new projects.
• Maintain supplier/contractor cost databases to ensure best-value pricing.
• Maintain cost data, unit rates, KPI data for accurate costing.
• Lead risk reviews and document contingencies and exclusions.
