Job summary

Martinus Group is seeking a Senior Estimator to join our pre-contracts team in Sydney. You will lead end-to-end estimating across major civil infrastructure tenders, developing robust pricing strategies and cost plans in collaboration with engineering, procurement and commercial teams.

You will analyse drawings and contract requirements, coordinate subcontractor pricing, identify risks and opportunities, and mentor junior estimators.

Qualifications

• Experience with estimating civil infrastructure projects.
• Proven ability to manage complex multi-disciplinary tenders.
• Strong understanding of construction methodologies and commercial drivers.
• Proficiency in first-principles estimating and estimating software.

This is an opportunity to work within a high-performing pre-contracts team on large-scale civil infrastructure tenders where you will be contributing to projects from concept through to award.

The Opportunity

Reporting to the Pre-Contracts Manager, the Senior Estimator will lead and coordinate estimating activities across major infrastructure bids, ensuring competitive, accurate, and commercially sound submissions.

You will work closely with engineering, construction, procurement, and commercial teams to develop robust pricing strategies and methodologies for complex projects across the rail infrastructure sector.

To succeed in this role, you will bring:

• Extensive estimating experience within major civil infrastructure projects
• Strong background across large-scale projects such as rail, transport, roads, bridges, or utilities
• Proven capability preparing complex multi-disciplinary tenders in a major projects environment
• High-level understanding of construction methodologies, productivity rates, and commercial drivers
• Experience with first-principles estimating and estimating software platforms
• Strong analytical, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills
• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple concurrent tender
• Tertiary qualifications in Engineering, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, or a related discipline
