Job summary

Gurit Ltd is seeking an experienced Epoxy Laminator/Composites Technician to join our manufacturing team on the Gold Coast. You will work hands-on with epoxy resins, foam-core materials and vacuum-bagging techniques to produce high‑quality composite components.

The ideal candidate has practical boat building or marine craft experience, strong attention to detail, and the ability to read technical drawings and follow procedures, working independently within a small team.

Qualifications

• Practical experience with epoxy resins, adhesives or similar composite materials.
• Good hands‑on skills and confidence using workshop tools and machinery.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to work accurately to measurements.
• A methodical approach to mixing, bonding, fabrication and quality control.
• Ability to follow technical instructions and work independently.
• A reliable work ethic and a strong commitment to workplace safety.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, measure and cut high-density structural foam core materials.
• Mix and apply epoxy resins and structural adhesives in accordance with manufacturer specifications.
• Bond and laminate foam-core components.
• Prepare assemblies for vacuum bagging and carry out vacuum-bagging operations.
• Monitor bonding and curing processes to ensure consistent results.
• Operate workshop machinery and equipment, including panel saws, table saws, bandsaws, drills and other relevant power tools.
• Measure, trim, sand, finish and assemble composite components to the required specifications.
• Read and interpret technical drawings, measurements and work instructions.
• Inspect finished components, identify defects and carry out repairs where required.
• Maintain a clean, organised and safe workshop.
• Handle chemicals and composite materials in accordance with workplace health and safety requirements.
• Work collaboratively with the production team to meet quality standards and manufacturing deadlines.
