Job summary

NSW Health's NCIRS unit seeks a Senior Research Officer in Epidemiology and Evaluation to advance vaccine safety and paediatric disease surveillance. You’ll perform routine analyses, compile reports and contribute to policy-relevant outputs.

The role involves collaboration with scientists and clinicians and supporting PAEDS and related surveillance networks. The position emphasises data quality, methodological rigour and the ability to communicate complex findings to diverse audiences, with

Qualifications

• Master’s degree or higher in a health-related discipline is desirable with relevant public health experience.
• Experience in immunisation services and the Australian health system is preferred.
• Strong scientific writing and ability to produce high quality technical reports.
• Excellent organisation, planning and attention to detail.
• Strong written and verbal communication, able to work in teams or independently.
• Proficient use of statistics software (SAS, SPSS, STATA, NVivo) and MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Conduct routine epidemiological analysis, data management, monitoring and reporting.
• Prepare surveillance reports, publications and presentations for policy and practice.
• Collaborate with epidemiologists, clinicians and stakeholders to improve surveillance systems.
• Support epidemiological research and evaluation projects across the unit.
