Job summary

Muse Recruitment in Perth seeks a Senior Environmental Scientist to deliver baseline studies, impact assessments, environmental approvals and advisory services across WA and globally. You will interpret data, prepare reports and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to meet project requirements.

The ideal candidate is self-driven, with strong communication, attention to detail and the ability to engage regulators, clients and professionals across diverse projects.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in environmental science or related field.
  • Minimum 7 years relevant work experience.
  • Knowledge of State and Commonwealth planning and environmental legislation.
  • Experience delivering Part IV & Part V Approvals (WA EPA Act) and EPBC approvals.
  • Experience with GIS software.
  • Mining/resources industry experience preferred.

Senior Environmental Scientist - Approvals

We are in search of a dedicated Senior Environmental Scientist to join a highly supportive and successful, employee-owned environmental consultancy in Perth. This is a reputable and respected specialist, focused on providing consulting services to their clients throughout Western Australia and globally.

About the opportunity

As an integral part of this team, you will have the opportunity to work on various challenging projects across mining, oil & gas and infrastructure.

You will be responsible for undertaking baseline studies, conducting environmental impact assessment, obtaining environmental approvals and providing environmental management advice.

Main responsibilities include:
  • Interpret technical data and produce relevant reports and presentations.
  • Develop, implement, and share technical expertise with the wider team.
  • Engage with technical personnel, managers and regulators.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver project requirements.
  • Develop professional network (professional bodies and clients) and identify potential future opportunities.

Essential requirements
  • A bachelor’s degree in environmental science or related field.
  • A minimum of 7 years relevant work experience.
  • Knowledge of State and Commonwealth planning and environmental legislation.
  • Experience delivering Part IV & Part V Approvals (under WA EPA Act) and EPBC approvals.
  • Experience with GIS software.
  • Previous experience in the mining/resources industry will be highly regarded (either through consulting work or direct).
