Job summary

EBR Ever Better Recruitment in Sydney NSW is seeking a Senior Ecologist with BioBanking experience to lead ecological assessments and reporting for diverse projects in both private and public sectors.

You will supervise field investigations, prepare Species and Environmental Impact Statements, and build client relationships to secure work while ensuring quality and compliance with vegetation, water and groundwater considerations.

Qualifications

• Ecologist with 5+ years in ecological consultancy.
• BioBanking Accreditation is required.
• Botanical identification skills demonstrated in prior work.
• Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform ecological assessment, natural resource management and environmental impact assessment work.
• Provide project ecological management advice considering vegetation, surface water and groundwater impacts.
• Oversee construction activities with ecological site inspections and related duties.
• Develop and maintain relationships with clients, colleagues, and government/private stakeholders.
• Manage projects to schedule, within budget and to required quality standards.
• Bid for and win new work.

Senior Ecologist with BioBanking Experience

Our client is a specialist environmental consultancy, providing expertise in all areas of ecological assessment and management. They also provide services to a wide range of private and public sector clients and routinely conduct ecological surveys and reporting for Species and Environmental Impact Statements, flora and fauna assessments, development applications and bushland management plans.

This role will allow you to experience an environment that leads ecological field investigations, creation of reports as well as impact assessments. You will supervise others and be able to utilize your established contacts and networks for business development and marketing activities.

• Degree qualified ecologist with more than five years’ experience, preferably within a consulting environment.
• BioBanking Accreditation (Requisite)
• Demonstrated botanical identification skills in previous occupation
• Excellent communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills

Some responsibilities about the role:

• Performing work in the areas of ecological assessment, natural resource management, environmental impact assessment, permitting and approval processes
• Provision of project ecological management advice and oversight in relation to ecological legislation and considering a range of matters such as vegetation, surface water and groundwater impacts
