Job summary

Fyfe is seeking a Senior Environmental Planner to lead complex environmental assessments and approvals for major NSW projects within a busy planning team based in Sydney. You will coordinate multidisciplinary inputs and drive delivery with Principal Planners, while mentoring junior staff and shaping processes.

The role focuses on a mix of transport, infrastructure and energy projects, with opportunities to contribute to Australia’s energy transition and to develop leadership across a growing

Qualifications

• 7+ years of relevant environmental planning experience.
• Strong experience leading complex environmental impact assessments and approvals.
• Knowledge of EIS, RoEF and state planning requirements.
• Excellent project management, stakeholder engagement, reporting and communication skills.
• Mentoring junior professionals and sharing technical knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Lead environmental assessments and approvals for major projects, including state-significant developments.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary inputs to deliver integrated, high-quality outcomes.
• Drive planning deliverables and manage quality, programme and budget expectations.
• Mentor and develop consultants and graduate planners.
• Champion continuous improvement and contribute ideas to systems and processes.
• Build strong relationships with clients, regulators and stakeholders.
