Job summary

ACCIONA is seeking an experienced Environmental Manager to lead environmental compliance, approvals, and sustainability across a major construction project in Australia. Reporting to the Project Director, you will implement and maintain the Project Environmental Management Plan, ensuring compliance with environmental legislation, contractual obligations, approvals, and project requirements.

Qualifications

• Relevant tertiary qualification in Environmental Science, Environmental Management, Sustainability, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 7 years' experience applying environmental management principles within construction, infrastructure, or civil projects.
• Strong knowledge of environmental legislation, approvals, auditing processes, and compliance management.
• Experience managing environmental incidents, investigations, reporting, and corrective actions.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement, communication, leadership, and relationship-building skills.
• Strong planning, organisational, and problem-solving abilities with a proactive approach to risk management.

Responsibilities

• Lead environmental compliance, approvals, and sustainability initiatives across construction projects.
• Prepare, implement, and maintain the Project Environmental Management Plan while ensuring compliance with legislation, contracts, approvals, and project requirements.
• Work with project teams, regulators, consultants, and subcontractors to manage environmental risks and drive a culture of environmental excellence.
