Job summary

Symal Infrastructure seeks a Senior Environmental Advisor to lead delivery of environmental performance on the Gawaya Baya Wind Farm in North Queensland. You will provide specialist guidance to the Project Manager and site teams, embedding environmental controls and driving compliance across all construction activities.

With a strong field presence, you’ll manage EMPs, permits and risk assessments, mentor junior staff, and deliver environmental reporting to leadership and clients.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated senior environmental advisory experience on major projects.
• Strong knowledge of Australian environmental legislation and approvals.
• Proven ability to implement EMPs and environmental controls on civil works.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Project Environmental Management Plan and related ES controls.
• Provide senior technical advice on risk, compliance and best practice.
• Drive environmental compliance across construction activities.
• Lead environmental inspections, audits, monitoring and risk assessments.
• Identify risks and implement mitigation measures.
• Manage environmental approvals, permits and conditions.
• Review EMPs, SEPs, SMPs and SWMS; supervise documentation.
• Maintain field presence and ensure controls are effective.
• Lead non-conformance investigations and corrective actions.
• Support regulatory engagement and environmental reporting.
