You’ll have a strong field presence and be responsible for ensuring environmental requirements are embedded into day-to-day construction activities, while proactively identifying risks, driving compliance and supporting the project to achieve its environmental and sustainability objectives.

You’ll be responsible for:
  • Leading the implementation and ongoing review of the Project Environmental Management Plan, Sustainability Management Plans and associated environmental controls.

  • Maintaining a strong field presence and working directly with supervisors, engineers and subcontractors to ensure environmental controls are effective.
  • Leading the identification, investigation and close-out of environmental non-conformances and corrective actions.
  • Supporting and, where required, leading environmental incident investigations and ensuring appropriate preventative actions are implemented.
  • Supporting regulatory engagement and environmental reporting requirements.
  • Preparing environmental and sustainability reporting for project leadership, senior management and clients.
  • Supporting project audits and maintaining compliance with relevant environmental management standards, including ISO 14001.
  • Working closely with the Client HSEQ team and participating in environmental audits, risk workshops, project meetings and incident investigations.
  • Delivering environmental training, inductions and toolbox sessions to employees and subcontractors.
  • Coaching and mentoring junior environmental team members and supporting their professional development.
  • Identifying opportunities to improve environmental performance through innovation, technology and industry-leading practices.
  • Contributing to a strong environmental culture across the project and ensuring environmental performance remains a priority throughout delivery.
About You

We’re looking for a hands‑on and commercially aware environmental professional who can operate confidently within a major construction project environment.

You’ll ideally have:
  • A tertiary qualification in Environmental Science, Environmental Management, Natural Resource Management, Earth Sciences, Science, Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Demonstrated experience in a Senior Environmental Advisor or Environmental Advisor role within civil construction, infrastructure, resources, renewable energy or major projects.
