Bathurst Regional Council in Sydney CBD NSW is seeking an experienced Senior Environmental Officer to lead our Environmental Officers team. You will implement policies, educate the community, and help Council protect and enhance the local environment through policy advice and collaborative leadership.

You will communicate with internal and external stakeholders, mentor staff, and manage multiple environmental projects while ensuring compliance with relevant Acts.

Competenze

• Bachelor degree in Environmental Science or Natural Resource Management.
• Minimum five years’ experience in environmental regulation or related field.
• Ability to prepare warning letters, notices, orders and Penalty Infringement Notices.
• Experience in environmental assessments of development applications, EIS and REF.
• Mentoring and supervision of staff.
• Advanced written and verbal communication and customer service skills.
• Advanced negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
• Advanced project management and ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Organised and focused on continuously improving systems, procedures and policies.
• Knowledge of POEO Act 1997 and Biodiversity Conservation Act 2016.
• Experience advising staff, business and community on biodiversity and environmental compliance.
• Proficiency in MS Word, Excel and online HR systems.
• Class C NSW Drivers Licence.
