Job summary

Bathurst Regional Council is seeking an experienced Senior Environmental Officer to lead our Environmental Officer team and implement policies, procedures and programs that educate the community and protect the local environment.

The role requires excellent communication, ability to provide technical and policy advice to internal and external stakeholders, and strong negotiation and project management skills to manage multiple priorities.

Qualifications

• Formal degree in environmental science or related field required.

• Demonstrated capability in policy implementation and community education.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of Environmental Officers and oversee program delivery.
• Provide technical and policy advice to internal and external stakeholders.
• Educate community and assist Council in environmental protection efforts.
• Assess development applications and environmental impact statements as required.
