Job summary

Chandler Macleod is seeking an experienced Environmental Health Officer to join a large metropolitan local government organisation on a temporary full-time contract. You will deliver environmental health programs, ensure compliance with legislation, and support community wellbeing across diverse health initiatives.

Qualifications

• Degree qualifications in Environmental Health or a related discipline.
• Current NSW Class C Driver's Licence.
• Experience within environmental health, public health or local government.
• Strong communication, investigation and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage competing priorities while delivering excellent customer service.
• Sound knowledge of relevant environmental and public health legislation.

• Conduct inspections of food premises, skin penetration businesses, cooling towers and on-site sewage systems.
• Investigate pollution, public health and environmental incidents.
• Assess environmental health matters relating to development applications.
• Provide advice and education to businesses, residents and stakeholders.
• Prepare reports, correspondence and regulatory documentation.
• Support environmental sustainability initiatives and community education programs.
