Job summary

WSP in Australia seeks a Senior Technical Director – Environmental Approvals to drive the delivery of major projects, manage client relationships and grow the portfolio in WA, SA and VIC regions.

You will lead technical excellence, shape strategy, mentor teams, and ensure a zero-harm safety culture while advancing workforce planning and talent development across the Environmental Approvals unit.

Qualifications

• Degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Management, Urban Planning, Ecology, or related field.
• 20+ years experience in Environmental Approvals.
• Strong leadership and people development experience.
• Experience with strategy, growth and talent development.
• Commitment to quality, innovation and continuous improvement.
• Proven ability to manage risk on large projects.
• Strong client relationship management and market development skills.
• Excellent communication and problem solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Oversee strategy, pursuit, management and delivery of major projects.
• Foster technical excellence within Ecology & Environmental Approvals.
• Support Expertise/Technical Excellence strategy and training programs aligned with national plan.
• Lead growth of client relationships and portfolios across VIC, SA and WA.
• Lead zero-harm HSE culture and ensure safety and environmental obligations are met.
• Support strategic hiring and workforce planning to build depth across the team.
