Commonwealth Bank’s Payments Data Feeds & Reporting team is seeking a Senior Engineering Manager to lead engineering across multiple squads in Sydney or Melbourne. You’ll shape technical strategy, uplift engineering excellence and modernise critical customer-facing platforms powering payment reporting and data services.

You’ll drive cloud-native, event-driven architectures, AI-assisted delivery and real-time data capabilities, partnering with Product, Risk and Cyber Security to deliver

Qualifications

• Extensive experience leading engineering teams across multiple squads or platforms.
• Strong background in cloud-native engineering and modern software architecture.
• Experience with large-scale reporting, data, integration or transaction platforms.
• Proven ability to develop high-performing engineers and engineering communities.

Responsibilities

• Lead engineering strategy and delivery across payments reporting, data feeds and customer reporting platforms.
• Build and develop high-performing engineering teams across multiple squads and locations.
• Drive modernisation to cloud-native, event-driven architectures.
• Champion engineering excellence across architecture, security, reliability and operations.
• Partner with Product, Architecture, Risk and Cyber Security to deliver customer outcomes.
• Influence technical direction across distributed systems and real-time processing platforms.
• Embed AI-assisted engineering practices to improve delivery quality and speed.
