Job summary

Commonwealth Bank is seeking a Senior Engineering Manager for Payments Technology in Sydney or Melbourne. You will lead engineering across multiple squads, shaping technical strategy and modernising critical payment reporting platforms for business and institutional customers.

You will drive cloud-native, event-driven architectures and AI-assisted delivery while building high-performing teams across Australia and India.

Qualifications

Extensive experience leading engineering teams across multiple squads or platforms.
Strong background in cloud-native engineering and distributed systems.
Experience with AWS and microservices architectures.
Proven ability to drive platform modernisation and engineering transformation.

Responsibilities

Lead engineering strategy and delivery across payment reporting, data feeds and customer reporting platforms.
Build and develop high-performing engineering teams across multiple squads and locations.
Drive modernisation to cloud-native, event-driven architectures.
Champion engineering excellence around architecture, security, reliability and resilience.
Partner with Product, Architecture, Risk, Cyber Security and Payments teams to deliver outcomes.
Influence technical direction across distributed systems and real-time processing platforms.
Embed AI-assisted practices to improve delivery quality and speed.
