Job summary

DXC Technology in Australia seeks a Senior Engineering Manager to lead a cloud-native, AI-first platform. You will own delivery direction, engage with architects, and guide a team of engineers toward scalable, production-ready software.

You will stay hands-on, drive sprint planning and reviews, mentor staff across levels, and ensure reliability, security and high-quality code in a multi-tenant SaaS environment.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of software engineering experience with 3+ years leading teams in production.
• Translate architectural direction into production-ready software.
• Deep knowledge of microservices, cloud-native patterns and API-first development.
• Strong experience with Python, GraphQL, REST APIs, SQL and modern toolchains.
• Solid CI/CD, Docker/Kubernetes, IaC and DevSecOps practices.
• Production experience on AWS or comparable cloud infra; multi-tenant SaaS preferred.
• Comfortable running agile delivery with Jira; capacity planning and estimation.
• Strong code review skills; identify issues before production
• Excellent written and verbal communication; transparent status updates.
• Detail-oriented and accountable; no gaps in ownership.
• Bachelor’s degree in CS/Software Eng or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Translate the Chief Architect’s vision into shipped, production-ready code.
• Lead a team of 5–10 engineers day-to-day with 1:1s and growth plans.
• Stay hands-on with complex code reviews and tough debugging.
• Mentor engineers to grow from juniors to seniors and beyond.
• Partner with TPM on sprint planning, capacity estimates and delivery tracking.
• Own engineering execution quality, testing, observability and reliability.
• Make tactical technical decisions while guarding architectural boundaries.
• Drive platform reliability across uptime, performance and security.
• Foster a culture of engineering craftsmanship and accountability.
