Job summary

SMEC is a global engineering consultancy recruiting a Senior Civil Engineer – Water Infrastructure for its Sunshine Coast office. You will drive technical design, delivery, and client engagement on water infrastructure projects locally and nationally.

You will lead pipelines and pump stations design, apply PM principles to schedules and budgets, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure high-quality outcomes. Flexible work arrangements are available.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (or similar).
• RPEQ or ability to obtain. 5–10 years’ experience in an engineering consultancy.

The Opportunity

In this role, you’ll play a key part in the technical delivery, project management, and client engagement of water infrastructure projects locally and nationally. You’ll be supported by experienced leaders while having the autonomy to take ownership of your projects and help drive commercial and technical success.

Key Responsibilities

About You

You are an experienced water infrastructure engineer who enjoys both technical delivery and client interaction, and you’re motivated to continue growing your career within a consultancy environment.

• You Will Ideally Have Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (or similar)
• RPEQ, or ability to obtain 5–10 years’ experience in an engineering consultancy
• Strong experience in water infrastructure detailed design
• Proven ability to deliver projects and manage multiple stakeholders
• Well-developed written and verbal communication skills
