Job summary

SMEC is seeking a Senior Civil Engineer to join our IV & Construction Services team in Adelaide, with regular travel to site offices.

You will deliver construction-phase services on major infrastructure projects, working with contractors and clients to ensure work is safe, on schedule, and to the highest technical standards. This hands-on role combines design interface with construction oversight and stakeholder engagement.

Qualifications

  • 6+ years’ experience in civil engineering within infrastructure projects.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (or equivalent).
  • Strong technical capability across civil projects.
  • Experience managing project risk and delivering strong client outcomes.
  • Ability to lead or support small teams and mentor others.
  • Proven client relationship and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience working independently across multiple projects.
  • Strong report writing and proposal preparation skills.
  • Effective time management and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Proactive mindset, with adaptability across varied project environments.

We are seeking talented Senior Civil Engineers to join our IV & Construction Services team in Adelaide, with regular travel to site offices required.

In this role, you’ll play a key part in delivering construction phase services across major infrastructure projects. Working closely with contractors, clients, and project teams, you’ll ensure works are delivered safely, on time, and to the highest technical standards.

This is a hands‑on role combining technical delivery, contract administration, and stakeholder engagement—ideal for someone who enjoys working at the interface of design and construction while building strong client relationships.
