Job summary

Xero is seeking a Senior Engineer for the Enterprise Platforms team to provide technical leadership across platforms, integrations, automations, and AI tools. You will guide planning, ensure security and reliability, and build reusable solutions that simplify daily work for global teams.

Work will blend hands-on engineering with collaboration across Product, Security, Architecture and Operations. The role focuses on creating scalable, secure internal platforms with a hybrid working model at Xero.

Qualifications

• Experience building and supporting cloud services or SaaS platforms.
• Experience creating integrations, automations, or system workflows using APIs.
• Ability to diagnose incidents and maintain reliable production environments.
• Translate business and user needs into clear, secure, practical technical solutions.
• Knowledge of security guidelines, access controls and change management.
• Ability to mentor teammates and communicate complex concepts clearly.

Responsibilities

• Enhancing enterprise SaaS platforms, cloud services, and internal automation workflows using APIs and modern platform features.
• Designing, developing, and supporting integrations, data migrations, and AI-enabled workflows to connect internal systems safely.
• Investigating complex technical incidents, determining root causes, and applying lasting fixes to keep production systems stable.
• Creating clear documentation, runbooks, policies, and reusable design patterns to support consistent platform management.
