Job summary

iVEGA GROUP PTY LTD in Sydney is seeking a seasoned API Solutions Architect to design, build, and operate enterprise-grade API platforms using Apigee X and microservices.

You will implement API proxies, security policies, traffic management, and analytics, while collaborating with Solution Architects, Product Owners, and engineering teams to standardize API design and governance across WooliesX-scale digital platforms.

Qualifications

• Design, develop and support enterprise API solutions using Apigee X, REST APIs and microservices.
• Build and maintain API proxies, policies, traffic management, authentication, monitoring and analytics in Apigee.
• Develop secure integrations with Node.js, Java/Spring Boot, REST, JSON on Azure and/or GCP.

Responsibilities

• Define API standards and governance with architects and product owners.
• Collaborate with engineering teams on integration patterns and lifecycle governance.
• Implement CI/CD pipelines and automated testing with GitHub, Azure DevOps, Docker and Kubernetes.

Job description

Mandatory Skills: Apigee X, API Management, REST APIs, Node.js and/or Java/Spring Boot, Microservices, OAuth/JWT Security, CI/CD, GitHub/Azure DevOps, Docker/Kubernetes, Agile Delivery.

Key Requirements

• Design, develop, and support enterprise-grade API solutions using Apigee X, REST APIs, and microservices architectures to enable scalable digital platforms across WooliesX.
• Build and maintain API proxies, security policies, traffic management, authentication, monitoring, analytics, and developer onboarding capabilities within the Apigee ecosystem.
• Develop secure and high-performing integrations using Node.js, Java/Spring Boot, RESTful services, JSON, and cloud-native services across Azure and/or GCP environments.
• Collaborate with Solution Architects, Product Owners, and engineering teams to define API standards, integration patterns, and API lifecycle governance for enterprise-scale solutions.
• Implement CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and observability practices using GitHub, Azure DevOps, Docker, Kubernetes, and modern engineering practices.
• Provide technical leadership on API strategy, performance optimization, security, troubleshooting, and platform modernization initiatives while operating within Agile delivery teams.

Nice to Have

GCP, Azure, GraphQL, Event-Driven Architecture, Terraform, API Analytics & Monitoring, Retail or Digital Commerce experience.
