Job summary

Quality People urgently seeks a Senior Engineer on the Gold Coast for a 12-month contract+ role. Lead the infrastructure team in delivering maintenance, rehabilitation and safety projects with a focus on value for money and technical excellence.

You will act as Project Manager and Contract Administrator, guiding pre-construction and procurement through delivery while mentoring junior engineers. Government experience is advantageous; long-term extensions may be available.

Qualifications

• RPEQ status is required.
• Four-year WA-accredited Bachelor of Engineering (Civil) or equivalent.
• Act as Project Manager and Contract Administrator for complex projects.
• Provide expert technical advice to senior staff and mentor graduates and junior engineers.
• Manage pre-construction activities including investigations, design tenders, and land requirements.
• Maintain relationships with government agencies and local councils.

Responsibilities

• Lead delivery of maintenance, rehabilitation and safety projects.
• Act as PM and Contract Administrator for complex projects from pre-construction to delivery.
• Oversee scope, schedule and budget to ensure on-time completion.

Job description

Our client URGENTLY requires a Senior Engineer for 12months+ Contracts on the Gold Coast.

We are seeking an experienced and proactive Senior Engineer to join the infrastructure team. In this role, you will lead the delivery of critical maintenance, rehabilitation, and safety projects, ensuring high-quality outcomes, value for money, and technical excellence.

Skills and Experience required includes:

• Registered Professional Engineer of Queensland (RPEQ) status.
• Four-year, Washington Accord accredited Bachelor of Engineering (Civil) (or equivalent assessed by Engineers Australia).
• Act as Project Manager and Contract Administrator for complex projects, overseeing the full lifecycle from pre-construction and procurement through to delivery and ensure all works are completed within scope, on time, and to budget.
• Provide expert technical advice to senior staff, mentor graduates and junior engineers, and resolve complex technical issues.
• Manage pre-construction activities, including investigations, design tenders, and land requirements
• Maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including government agencies and local councils.
• Demonstrate expertise in engineering practices and human resource management principles.

Government experience would be highly advantageous.
