Job summary

Quality People is urgently seeking a Principal Engineer for a 12-month+ contract on the Gold Coast. You will lead the end-to-end lifecycle of road infrastructure projects, ensuring quality, value for money, and technical excellence across design and construction phases.

Required are RPEQ status and a four-year Civil Engineering degree under the Washington Accord, plus proven procurement and contract administration experience.

Qualifications

• Registered Professional Engineer of Queensland (RPEQ) status.
• Four-year, Washington Accord–accredited Bachelor of Engineering (Civil) or equivalent.
• Rep. of the Principal; manage procurement lifecycle from tender calling to contract award.
• Provide high-level engineering advice on design, materials and construction practices; mentor staff.
• Manage resources, monitor progress, report expenditure; oversee PM systems.
• Government experience would be highly advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Lead the end-to-end lifecycle of road infrastructure projects from design to construction.
• Oversee procurement lifecycle, tendering, and contract award.
• Ensure delivery within scope, time, and budget with value for money and quality.
• Provide accurate reporting on expenditure and progress; manage project resources.
• Mentor graduates and technical staff; uphold quality and environmental standards.

Our client URGENTLY requires a Principal Engineer for 12months+ Contracts on the Gold Coast.

We are seeking an experienced and proactivePrincipal Engineerto join the infrastructure delivery team. You will lead the end-to-end lifecycle of road infrastructure projects, ensuring high-quality outcomes, value for money, and technical excellence across design and construction phases.

Skills and Experience required includes:

• Registered Professional Engineer of Queensland (RPEQ) status.
• Four-year, Washington Accord accredited Bachelor of Engineering (Civil) (or equivalent assessed by Engineers Australia).
• Act as the Representative of the Principal and Contract Administrator. Manage the full procurement lifecycle, including tender calling, assessment, and contract award, ensuring delivery within scope, on time, and to budget.
• Provide high-level engineering advice on design, materials, and construction practices. Mentor graduates and technical staff, resolve complex technical issues, and ensure adherence to quality and environmental standards.
• Manage project resources, monitor progress, and provide accurate reporting on expenditure and oversee the effective use of project management systems and processes.
• Demonstrate expertise in engineering practices and human resource management principles.

Government experience would be highly advantageous.
