Job summary

u&u Recruitment Partners is seeking an experienced employment tax professional for a 12-month fixed-term contract based in North Ryde, Sydney. The role focuses on reviewing taxation and compliance of employee payments within a large, complex payroll environment, working across payroll, finance, tax and HR to identify risks and implement sustainable treatments.

The role offers hybrid work with two days from home.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in employment tax, payroll tax or payroll compliance.
• Strong knowledge of FBT, payroll tax, PAYG withholding and superannuation.
• Experience with complex payroll environments and employee payments.
• Exposure to awards and Enterprise Agreements.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capability.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
• Ability to interpret legislation for real-world payroll.

Responsibilities

• Review a broad range of employee payments from an employment tax perspective.
• Apply knowledge of FBT, payroll tax, PAYG withholding and superannuation to scenarios.
• Work through complex or ambiguous tax matters and provide practical recommendations.
• Consider relevant awards and Enterprise Agreements when assessing payroll treatments.
• Highlight areas requiring attention and help the project team find solutions.
• Partner with diverse stakeholders across the organisation.
• Apply technical judgement to project findings and investigations.
• Ensure analysis and recommendations are clearly captured and supported.
