Job summary

Department of Parliamentary Services in Canberra is seeking an experienced emergency management professional to lead and coordinate high-stakes preparedness initiatives under general direction.

You will produce briefs, plans and after-action reviews, collaborate with senior executives and multi-agency partners, and help strengthen security arrangements to meet national standards such as AS3745.

Qualifications

• Understand emergency management frameworks and governance in large environments.
• Prepare concise briefing materials and deliver verbal briefings to diverse audiences.
• Experience in designing, coordinating and delivering multi-agency emergency management exercises.
• Develop and operationalise emergency management plans per national standards such as AS3745.
• Analyse incidents to identify risks and provide remediation recommendations.
• Demonstrated leadership and collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to plan, coordinate and facilitate emergency preparedness exercises.
• Prepare high-quality briefs, exercise plans, internal communications and after-action reviews.
• Provide specialist written advice and review protocols to improve security and emergency management.
• Identify long-term objectives and enhance emergency management arrangements to national standards.
• Develop and oversee emergency management training and related programs.
