Job summary

Topcon Precision Agriculture (TPA) in Adelaide is looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join our engineering team. You will design, develop, test and enhance software powering advanced agricultural equipment and precision farming systems, contributing to the full software development lifecycle.

You will mentor engineers, help drive technical excellence and collaborate across cross‑functional teams to deliver innovative solutions that impact global agriculture.

Qualifications

• 4+ years' experience in software development within a team environment.
• Strong experience with C/C++ development.
• Understanding of Object‑Oriented Design principles.
• Experience working with Real‑Time Embedded Systems.
• Knowledge of Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) methodologies.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving capabilities.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Multi‑threaded applications and advanced debugging techniques.
• Experience using modern development tools, including AI‑assisted development technologies such as GitHub Copilot.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test and maintain software solutions for agricultural technology products.
• Develop software requirements, technical designs and documentation.
• Create and maintain C/C++ applications in embedded and real‑time environments.
• Build robust multi‑threaded and event‑driven software systems.
• Debug, troubleshoot and optimise complex software applications.
• Support software testing and validation activities.
• Provide technical guidance and mentoring to engineers within the team.
• Contribute to project planning, effort estimation and delivery schedules.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional engineering teams to deliver innovative solutions.
