Job summary

Topcon Precision Agriculture (TPA) in Adelaide seeks a Senior Software Engineer to design, develop, test and maintain software for advanced agricultural equipment, spanning embedded and PC-based systems. You’ll mentor peers and help drive technical excellence.

Requirements: Software Engineering degree, 4+ years in a team, strong C/C++, real-time embedded experience, OO design and SDLC knowledge. GitHub Copilot and other AI tools are encouraged; collaborate with a global team delivering precision

Qualifications

• Degree in Software Engineering or related discipline.
• 4+ years' experience in software development within a team.
• Strong C/C++ development experience.
• Understanding of Object-Oriented Design principles.
• Experience with Real-Time Embedded Systems.
• Knowledge of Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) methodologies.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Experience with AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test and maintain software solutions for agricultural technology products.
• Develop software requirements, technical designs and documentation.
• Create and maintain C/C++ applications in embedded and real-time environments.
• Build robust multi-threaded and event-driven software systems.
• Debug, troubleshoot and optimise complex software applications.
• Support software testing and validation activities.
• Provide technical guidance and mentoring to engineers within the team.
• Contribute to project planning, effort estimation and delivery schedules.
• Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to deliver innovative solutions.
