Job summary

Cochlear Limited is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to support verification and validation of an implantable medical device and its accessories. This hands-on, on-site role in Sydney focuses on developing verification protocols, conducting laboratory testing and producing clear verification reports.

You will work with cross-functional teams, develop automated tests in Python, and ensure compliance with quality systems.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Mechatronic Engineering.
5+ years of electronics design and verification experience.
Hands-on with test equipment (oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, multimeters).
Experience scripting in Python to automate test equipment or verification activities.
Ability to produce clear, concise technical documents and reports.

Responsibilities

Take ownership of electrical verification activities against product requirements and specifications.
Develop, write and review design verification plans, test protocols and verification reports.
Perform hands-on electrical testing in the lab and record results.
Develop test jigs and Python scripts to automate verification activities.
Coordinate EMC, ESD and RF emissions testing with external test houses.
Support debugging and finalisation of electronic designs during verification builds.
