Job summary

PAE Government Services Inc. in Alice Springs seeks a Professional Technician – Electrical Trade Specialist to join a small team overseeing the maintenance of facility infrastructure and critical systems.

You will operate professional electrical equipment, plan and execute repairs, and mentor junior tradespeople to uphold high standards of safety and reliability. This role requires extensive post-trade experience, strong knowledge of electrical distribution, and the ability to work independently

Qualifications

Essential 10 years post trade experience.
Strong understanding of WHS Act and EHS policies & procedures.
Strong technical knowledge of electrical infrastructure and terminology.
Knowledge of preventive, predictive and corrective maintenance.
High-level problem solving and analytical abilities.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
Desirable SAP ERP experience.
Knowledge of electrical distribution and industrial control circuits.
Experience with generators, BESS and VFDs.
Electrical licensing and complementary trade qualifications.

Responsibilities

Operate, maintain, and apply knowledge to facility infrastructure and electrical equipment.
Diagnose and rectify complex electrical faults using advanced diagnostics.
Repair, overhaul, and optimise motors, distribution and control systems.
Provide technical guidance in complex installations, breakdowns and repairs.
Mentor trade personnel and support knowledge growth within the team.
Lead rapid responses to abnormal facility situations and emergencies.
Develop relationships with stakeholders and promote best practices.
Review and update technical drawings, procedures, and documentation.
Maintain current specialist knowledge of facilities and systems.
Plan and install new electrical equipment and ensure system integration.
Ensure health and safety compliance at site.
Perform other reasonable duties as required.
