Job summary

ECG Engineering Pty Ltd is seeking a Senior Electrical Project Engineer to join our project studies team. You will help plan and deliver large, complex international resource projects, coordinating electrical, power systems and controls scopes across Australia and overseas.

The ideal candidate has 8 to 20+ years of experience, solid cost reporting expertise, and a track record in constructability, estimates and manpower forecasting within major project environments.

Qualifications

• Degree in engineering (BEng Electrical) or equivalent.
• Experience with cost control and reporting.
• Strong report writing and written communication skills.
• Experience with Excel and ProjectWise in project control.
• Experience in forecasting and planning of projects.
• Tendering and estimating experience.

Responsibilities

ECG Engineering are leaders in the Electrical Engineering space, delivering design and project delivery services to the Mining, Utilities, Materials Handling and Industrial sectors with extensive and proven capabilities in Australia, and around the world.

With offices in Perth, Brisbane, Toronto, Vancouver, Manila & Dar Es Salaam, Tanzania & Cape Town, ECG have the capability to design and deliver on complex projects, from early study work to commissioning and handover, drawing on the expertise of senior ECG personnel who have worked together for 30 + years.

We require a Senior Electrical Project Engineer to join the project studies team to aid in the planning and delivery of a range of large complex international resource projects. ECG handle the electrical, power systems and controls automation scope while our friends at Lycopodium handle the SMP packages.

The Senior Electrical Project Engineer role will suit any engineering / construction or resource sector professional with 8 to 20 + years experience who has a passion for working in a major project environment and being a part of the team that pulls the projects together, then executes the strategy, from study and design through to construction commissioning and handover.

The ideal applicant will have solid cost reporting expertise as well as strong experience in electrical engineering packages.

Your background in electrical construction will see you as integral to pulling our studies together in terms of constructability, estimates and manpower forecasting.

The role will require strong organizational and communication skills, as you will be working in an occasionally frantic environment, where multiple projects are running across Australia, and around the world.

Ideal Key Experience required

• Major mineral processing project experience, both office and site
• Construction experience: understanding the processes and linkages
• Experience - exposure to the engineering environment and the process of creating, revising and issuing engineering drawings
• Exposure - understanding of the schedule
• Strong cost control / reporting expertise
• Experience - exposure to Project Controls and Planning & Estimating
• Experience in electrical engineering and associated plant and packages

Skills and Attributes required

• B Eng Electrical, or Engineering / business / legal / construction economics degree
• Strong report writing and written communication skills
• Demonstrated cost control / reporting experience
• Moderate to good Excel and Project Wise knowledge
• Experience in Project Forecasting and Planning
• Tendering and Estimating experience
• Microsoft Office Experience specifically
• Ultra positive work attitude, keen to work in a fast-paced role where organization is critical
