Job summary

ECG Engineering are seeking a Senior Package Engineer (Electrical) to join our project delivery team for a large mining project based in Subiaco, WA, with occasional work in Welshpool. You will manage electrical, power systems and controls packages, supporting study through to handover, in collaboration with Lycopodium for SMP packages.

ECG Engineering are leaders in the Electrical Engineering space, delivering design and project delivery services to the Mining, Utilities, Materials Handling and Industrial sectors with extensive and proven capabilities in Australia, and around the world.

With offices in Perth, Brisbane, Toronto, Vancouver, Manila & Dar Es Salaam, Tanzania and Cape Town, ECG have the capability to design and deliver on complex projects, from early study work to commissioning and handover, drawing on the expertise of senior ECG personnel who have worked together for 30 + years.

We require a Senior Package Engineer (Electrical) for our client’s Subiaco project office, as well as occasionally in the Welshpool office. So if your hesitation in joining ECG was the Welshpool location, then now might be the time to throw your hat in the ring… You will be joining the project delivery team to aid in the delivery and execution on a large complex gold project. ECG will manage the electrical, power systems and controls automation scope while our friends at Lycopodium handle the SMP packages.

The Senior Package Engineer role will suit any engineering / construction or resource sector professional with 8 to 20 + years experience who has a passion for working in a major project environment and being a part of the team that pulls the projects together, then executes the strategy, from study and design through to construction commissioning and handover. The ideal applicant will have solid cost reporting expertise as well as strong experience in electrical engineering packages.

The role will require strong organizational and communication skills, as they will be working in an occasionally frantic environment.

Ideal Key Experience required

• Major mineral processing electrical project experience, both office and site
• Construction experience: understanding the processes and linkages
• Experience – exposure to the engineering environment and the process of creating, revising and issuing engineering drawings
• Exposure – understanding of the schedule
• Strong cost control / reporting expertise
• Experience – exposure to Project Controls and Planning
• Experience in electrical engineering and associated plant and packages

Skills and Attributes required

• B Eng Electrical, or Engineering / business / legal / construction economics degree
• Strong report writing and written communication skills
• Demonstrated cost control / reporting experience
• Moderate to good Excel and Project Wise knowledge
• Experience in Project Forecasting and Planning
• Tendering and Estimating experience
• Microsoft Office Experience specifically o Excel o Word o Powerpoint
• Ultra positive work attitude, keen to work in a fast-paced role where organization is critical
