Job summary

New Edge Group in Melbourne, VIC is seeking an experienced Intermediate/Senior Electrical Estimator to join our Victorian team. You will prepare detailed estimates and tender submissions across commercial and industrial electrical projects, reviewing drawings and specifications to ensure competitive bids.

Collaborating with estimating, project and engineering teams, you will manage multiple tenders, apply value-engineering solutions, and maintain accurate estimating records to support project

Qualifications

• Previous experience as an Electrical Estimator within the construction industry.
• Experience estimating commercial and/or industrial electrical projects.
• Electrical trade qualification and/or relevant electrical engineering or construction qualification.
• Strong understanding of electrical systems, drawings and specifications.
• Strong knowledge of electrical materials, labour and installation requirements.
• Experience preparing tenders, take-offs and cost estimates.
• Good commercial awareness and attention to detail.
• Strong organisational and time-management skills.
• Strong communication and negotiation skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tenders and deadlines.
• Strong computer literacy.
• A positive, professional and solutions-focused approach.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed electrical estimates and tender submissions
• Review drawings, specifications and scopes of work
• Complete accurate quantity take-offs and cost estimates
• Obtain and assess supplier and subcontractor quotations
• Prepare tender documentation and submissions
• Identify project risks, exclusions and opportunities during the tender process
• Liaise with suppliers, subcontractors, builders and clients
• Review project requirements and provide practical value-engineering solutions
• Assist with tender clarifications and post-tender negotiations
• Maintain accurate estimating documentation and records
• Work closely with Project Managers and internal teams during project handover
• Ensure estimates reflect project requirements, specifications and relevant standards
