Job summary

CE Group, on the Gold Coast, is seeking an Electrical Engineer to design custom and modular switchboards, guiding from concept through to manufacture. The role collaborates with workshop and project teams, providing design leadership and mentoring junior staff.

You will ensure compliance with Australian standards and safety requirements, and work with purchasing to procure materials. The position offers professional development and leadership support within a growing company.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering and experience designing custom and modular switchboards.
• Strong knowledge of Australian Standards and electrical legislation (AS/NZS 3000, AS/NZS 61439, AS 2067).
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and relevant specialist design software.
• Practical, collaborative approach with ability to build relationships and support development of others.
• RPEQ eligibility.
• Unrestricted working rights in Australia.

Responsibilities

• Deliver electrical designs for custom and modular switchboards and switchrooms, ensuring compliance with Australian Standards and safety requirements.
• Support Project Managers with technical documentation and deliver engineering work within approved budgets and programmes.
• Work with the purchasing team to coordinate materials and equipment procurement.
• Resolve technical queries and provide engineering support to workshop teams throughout manufacture.
• Lead design activities, mentor junior engineers and designers, and contribute to continuous improvement.

About The Opportunity

We're seeking an Electrical Engineer to join our switchboard manufacturing team, taking designs from concept through to manufacture and supporting the people who bring them to life ... This role suits someone who enjoys solving technical challenges, working closely with workshop and project teams, and improving how things are done. You'll also provide design leadership and mentor junior engineers and designers.

What You'll Be Doing

• Deliver electrical designs for custom and modular switchboards and switchrooms, ensuring compliance with relevant Australian Standards, legislation and safety requirements


• Support Project Managers with technical documentation and deliver engineering work within approved budgets and project programmes

What You'll Bring

• Strong knowledge of Australian Standards and electrical legislation for LV and HV equipment, particularly AS/NZS 3000, AS/NZS 61439 and AS 2067


• Proficiency in AutoCAD and relevant specialist design software


• A practical, collaborative approach, with the ability to build strong working relationships and support the development of others
