Job summary

Cell Engineering is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to join our Gladstone team, with relocation supported to Central Queensland. You will lead HV/LV electrical design and project delivery across mining, energy and industrial sectors.

Based in the Gladstone office, you will conduct power system studies, prepare schematics and reports, and mentor junior engineers while collaborating with clients and multidisciplinary teams to deliver practical, high-quality outcomes.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical Engineering
• 6+ years of relevant industry experience
• Experience delivering electrical power system projects in mining/utilities/power generation/heavy industry
• Strong knowledge of HV/LV power systems and protection systems
• Experience with engineering software (ETAP/PowerFactory/SKM/PowerCAD/PSCAD)
• Understanding of industrial control systems, PLC and SCADA interfaces (desirable)
• RPEQ registration or commitment to obtaining RPEQ
• Willingness to relocate to Gladstone, QLD

Responsibilities

• Deliver HV and LV electrical engineering projects from concept through to commissioning support.
• Undertake power system studies including load flow, short circuit, protection coordination, arc flash, earthing and power quality analysis.
• Prepare engineering deliverables including single line diagrams, protection schematics, equipment specifications and technical reports.
• Provide FAT, SAT, commissioning and site engineering support.
• Lead technical project delivery while mentoring Project and Graduate Engineers.
• Work closely with clients and multidisciplinary engineering teams to deliver practical engineering solutions.

About You

You will have:

• Experience delivering electrical power system projects within mining, utilities, power generation or heavy industry.
• Strong knowledge of HV/LV power systems, protection systems and electrical design.
• Experience using ETAP, PowerFactory, SKM Power*Tools, PowerCAD, PSCAD or similar engineering software.
• A sound understanding of industrial control systems, PLC and SCADA interfaces (desirable).
• RPEQ registration or a commitment to obtaining RPEQ.
• Strong communication skills and a passion for delivering quality engineering outcomes.
• Willingness to relocate to Gladstone, QLD.
