Job summary

RGIT Australia seeks an experienced Senior Electrical Engineer to lead electrical power projects across mining, utilities, and industrial sectors. You will own technical delivery from concept through commissioning, with focus on HV/LV systems, protection and control interfaces.

Ideal candidates hold a degree in electrical engineering with 6+ years of relevant experience, familiarity with ETAP/PowerFactory/SCADA tools, and are eligible for RPEQ registration.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical Engineering with 6+ years' experience.
• Experience delivering electrical power system projects in mining/utilities/power generation.
• Strong knowledge of HV/LV power systems and protection.
• Experience with ETAP, PowerFactory, SKM PowerTools, PowerCAD or PSCAD.
• Understanding of industrial control systems, PLC/SCADA (desirable).
• RPEQ registration or pursuit of RPEQ.

Responsibilities

• Deliver HV and LV electrical projects from concept to commissioning.
• Conduct power system studies: load flow, short circuit, protection, arc flash, earthing, PQ.
• Prepare single line diagrams, protection schematics, specs, reports.
• Provide FAT, SAT, commissioning and site support.

We're looking for an experienced Senior Electrical Engineer to join our growing team. If you're currently working in an engineering consultancy or industrial environment and are looking for greater project ownership, technical variety and career progression, we'd love to hear from you.

About the Role

Working across mining, energy, utilities and industrial projects, you will:

• Deliver HV and LV electrical engineering projects from concept through to commissioning support.


• Undertake power system studies including load flow, short circuit, protection coordination, arc flash, earthing and power quality analysis.


• Prepare engineering deliverables including single line diagrams, protection schematics, equipment specifications and technical reports.


• Provide FAT, SAT, commissioning and site engineering support.


• Lead technical project delivery while mentoring Project and Graduate Engineers.


• Work closely with clients and multidisciplinary engineering teams to deliver practical engineering solutions.

About You

You will have:

• A Degree in Electrical Engineering with 6+ years' relevant industry experience.


• Experience delivering electrical power system projects within mining, utilities, power generation or heavy industry.


• Strong knowledge of HV/LV power systems, protection systems and electrical design.


• Experience using ETAP, PowerFactory, SKM Power*Tools, PowerCAD, PSCAD or similar engineering software.


• A sound understanding of industrial control systems, PLC and SCADA interfaces (desirable).


• RPEQ registration or a commitment to obtaining RPEQ.


• Strong communication skills and a passion for delivering quality engineering outcomes.
