Job summary

Ammjohn Solutions is expanding its Adelaide team with a Senior Electrical Engineer to lead delivery across our growing project portfolio. This hands-on senior role combines technical involvement with leadership, guiding engineers and designers and taking ownership of electrical scopes.

You will review drawings and calculations, manage scope, schedule and budget, provide day-to-day direction, and work closely with project managers and clients to resolve issues and deliver high‑quality outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering is required.
• 7–10 years' industry experience in senior electrical or project engineering roles.
• Experience leading and coordinating engineers and designers.
• Strong knowledge of Australian Standards and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

• Lead electrical engineering and design activities across multidisciplinary projects.
• Take ownership of electrical scopes and deliverables, including scope, schedule, budget and technical quality.
• Lead and coordinate electrical engineers and designers, allocate work and provide day-to-day technical direction.
• Review electrical drawings, calculations, datasheets, specifications and other engineering documentation.
• Review single line diagrams, schematics, P&IDs, flow diagrams and associated electrical documentation.
• Work closely with Project Managers, Project Leads and other engineering disciplines to coordinate project delivery and resolve technical issues.
• Manage electrical interfaces across multidisciplinary projects.
• Work directly with clients, contractors and vendors to provide practical engineering advice and resolve issues as they arise.
• Support project budgets, variations, procurement, tendering and vendor engagement.
• Lead and participate in design reviews, Safety in Design workshops, HAZOPs, HAZIDs, risk assessments and constructability reviews.
• Provide engineering support during construction and commissioning, including RFIs, contractor submissions, inspections, testing and site support where required.
• Mentor and support junior and mid-level engineers and help build capability across the electrical team.
• Contribute to the development of Ammjohn's electrical engineering standards, processes and ways of working.
• Support proposals, tenders, client relationships and business development activities as required.
