Job summary

Atlas, a Sequana Group company in Melbourne, seeks a Senior Electrical Engineer to lead electrical scope on major water, energy and environment projects. You will mentor juniors, review designs, and engage with clients to shape delivery across the full lifecycle.

With 7 years of experience in Electrical or I&C, you will work on LV distribution, switchgear, protection, and DC systems, participate in safety in design reviews, and support procurement and site delivery in a dynamic, collaborative

Qualifications

• Minimum 7 years’ experience in Electrical or Instrumentation & Controls.
• Tertiary qualifications in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
• LV distribution, switchgear, discrimination, protection & cable sizing.
• Key standards: AS3000, AS 61439.
• Experience supporting project delivery partners with procurement/tendering processes and activities.
• Site/construction experience, fault finding, troubleshooting and commissioning skills.
• DC systems – battery chargers, UPS’, battery/DC storage sizing, calculations and specification experience.
• Motor starters, DB’s, Switchboards, VSD’s and MCC design, engineering, sizing and specification skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead engineering scope on project components for electrical discipline.
• Facilitate safety in design reviews (HAZOP, SiD, CHAIR) and workshops.
• Review graduates' and engineers' work for quality and Atlas standards.
• Review third‑party design documentation for scope, standards, constructability.
• Conduct site assessments and provide design support during delivery.
• Attend client design meetings and explain design rationale.
• Assess asset condition and design for maintainability in live environments.
• Contribute to cost estimates, task hours, and scope changes.
• Support procurement/tendering with technical oversight.
