Job summary

Mott MacDonald is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer for Queensland to join a driven, agile team delivering electrical design across energy, transport and infrastructure projects. You’ll contribute from feasibility through to commissioning, shaping energy transition outcomes and client-focused solutions.

You will bring post-graduate electrical engineering experience, consulting exposure, and a strong understanding of power system design, protection, and network integration, while collaborating

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering required.
• CPEng and RPEQ registration, or eligibility to obtain it, is highly regarded for this Queensland-based role.
• Post-graduate experience in electrical engineering, preferably with consulting exposure.
• Knowledge of electrical power system design including protection, switchgear, earthing and network integration.
• Experience delivering projects through concept to commissioning phases.
• Familiarity with Australian standards and utility requirements.
• Strong client-facing communication and risk identification skills.

Responsibilities

• Deliver electrical engineering solutions across energy, transport and infrastructure projects.
• Lead or support concept, feasibility, detailed design and commissioning activities for electrical infrastructure.
• Develop designs and documentation for substations, switchgear, transformers and power distribution systems.
• Provide technical leadership across multidisciplinary projects including renewable generation and grid connections.
• Coordinate interfaces across civil, structural, mechanical, rail and digital engineering teams.
• Support pursuit, proposals and work-winning activities in energy markets.
• Mentor junior engineers to build team capability and delivery consistency.
• Apply innovative digital engineering approaches to improve safety, sustainability and value.
