WSP Global Inc. in Melbourne, Victoria is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to lead electrical design for single and multi-disciplinary buildings services projects.

You will manage small to medium design packages within larger programmes, ensuring best-practice delivery while controlling costs and timelines. You will build strong client relationships, contribute to the growth of the Building Services team, and support strategic goals across the national property and buildings business,

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Electrical Engineering degree required.
• 7-10+ years of Australian building services experience.
• Experience delivering multiple concurrent projects.
• Strong client relationship management and communication skills.
• Knowledge of AS/NZS 3000 and NCC standards.
• Eligible for or pursuing CPEng/NER status.

About the Team:

Our Melbourne Building Services team is a well-established, collaborative group within WSP’s national Property and Buildings business. You’ll be joining a great mix of highly experienced, long-standing team members and fresh talent, creating a genuinely supportive and inclusive culture where successes are celebrated together.

The team is delivering a strong pipeline of Tier 1 projects across sectors including Transport, Defence, Data Centres, Commercial and Health, offering plenty of variety and technical challenge. About The Role

As a Senior Electrical Engineer, you will provide expertise in electrical design for both single and multi-disciplinary projects. You’ll lead small to medium-sized design packages within larger, complex programmes, ensuring best practice delivery while managing costs and timelines. You will also build strong client relationships and play a key role in developing our Building Services team, contributing to broader strategic goals and the continued growth of the business.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide electrical design leadership on both single and multi-disciplinary projects across a range of sectors
• Lead small to medium-sized engineering design projects and support larger, more complex projects to ensure effective and efficient delivery.
• Maintain clear and consistent communication with external clients and authorities, as well as internal colleagues and managers, to ensure alignment and successful project outcomes.
• Deliver best practices to achieve optimal outcomes for clients, focusing on saving time and reducing costs without compromising on quality.
• Build solid, long-term relationships with clients, identifying new business development opportunities and understanding their evolving needs.
• Contribute to the development and growth of the business unit by supporting strategic goals and initiatives aimed at enhancing overall success.

Key Requirements

• Bachelor of Electrical Engineering;
• 7-10+ years of industry experience delivering Australian building services projects, preferably within a consulting environment;
• Demonstrated experience successfully managing and delivering multiple concurrent projects across a range of scales and sectors;
• Strong client relationship management, stakeholder engagement, and project management skills;
• Sound working knowledge of relevant Australian Standards and Codes, including AS/NZS 3000, NCC, and associated building services standards;
• Excellent technical design, coordination, and problem-solving capabilities across electrical building services systems;
• Eligible for, or currently registered on, the National Engineering Register (NER) and/or working towards Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) status;
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively liaise with clients, multidisciplinary teams, contractors, and authorities.
