Job summary

Harrison McMillan Pty Ltd in Canberra is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to lead project delivery across commercial, residential and government sectors. You will collaborate with clients, architects and contractors to deliver practical engineering solutions and drive technical excellence.

You will mentor engineers, contribute to business growth, and help shape project strategy while working from our Canberra office. Unrestricted Australian work rights required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Electrical Engineering with Australian consulting exposure.
• Strong knowledge of electrical infrastructure, lighting, communications and essential services.
• Experience coordinating with clients and project stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead project delivery from initial planning to completion.
• Build and maintain client relationships and strengthen stakeholder engagement.
• Mentor and support developing engineers and junior staff.

Harrison McMillan has partnered with a growing engineering consultancy delivering high-quality building services solutions across commercial, residential, government, education, health, and mixed-use developments throughout the ACT and NSW.

As this company's project portfolio continues to expand, we're seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to play a key role in leading project delivery, strengthening client relationships, and driving technical excellence across the business.

The Opportunity

This role offers the chance to take ownership of projects from early planning through to completion, working closely with clients, architects, contractors, and project teams to deliver practical and innovative engineering solutions.

You'll work across a diverse range of developments while contributing to the technical growth of the team and helping shape the future direction of the business.

What You'll Bring

• Proven experience delivering building services electrical designs within an Australian consulting environment.
• Strong technical knowledge of electrical infrastructure, lighting, communications, security, and essential services systems.
• Sound understanding of Australian Standards, NCC requirements, and authority approval processes.
• Experience managing client relationships and coordinating with project stakeholders.
• A proactive approach to mentoring and supporting developing engineers.
• Exposure to emerging technologies including EV charging, renewable energy systems, sustainability initiatives, and smart building solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Electrical Engineering (or equivalent).
• Engineers Australia membership and NER listing.
• ACT Professional Engineer Registration.
