Job summary

The City of Whittlesea is seeking a Senior Industry Development Officer to lead industry growth initiatives within the Economic Development Department. You will design and implement programs for priority sectors, engaging with government, education providers and industry partners to attract investment and support local businesses.

This is a full-time, fixed-term role with hybrid work options and a remuneration package around $110,873 plus super.

Qualifications

• Relevant tertiary qualifications in business or equivalent.
• Thorough understanding of economic development in urban contexts and emerging trends.
• Strong project management experience.
• Experience in conducting research and analysing data to develop business development programs.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement industry growth initiatives for priority sectors.
• Proactively establish and maintain partnerships with government, education providers, businesses and industry groups.
• Collaborate with stakeholders on projects and advocacy to attract investment and support growth.
• Monitor industry trends to identify strengths, growth potential and investment opportunities for the City.
